Hollywood legend Harrison Ford has again been spotted in the North East - on what appears to be a very pricey bike.

The 78-year-old enjoyed even more of the region during a break shooting the latest Indiana Jones film

Exclusive pictures taken by Terry Blackburn show him in the Northumberland village of Cresswell, embarking on a 30 mile bike ride just hours after wrapping up a gruelling 3am shoot.

Cycling enthusiasts claim the star's top-of-the range bike costs upwards of £17,000 - although small change for an actor reportedly worth a reported $300m.

Filming is currently taking place at Bamburgh Castle for the fifth Indiana Jones blockbuster, due out in 2022.

It will see Ford once again crack his whip, reprising the iconic role for the first time since 2008.

And he's been spending his free time this week sampling much of our region.

On Tuesday, he tucked into sea bass and mussels at The Ship's Cat, at the North Shields Fish Quay.

Again kitted out in his cycling gear, he posed for selfies with stunned diners.

And on Wednesday, he enjoyed a walk along the Quayside, before popping into Khai Khai for a bite to eat,

The Star Wars actor also visited Aveika in the city centre during his stroll in the sun.

The star has been switching between the North East and North Yorkshire in recent days, where one star struck child encountered him.

The child's mum took to Twitter to upload a picture of Harrison on set and wrote: "Look who walked right past us in Grosmont today.

"Our son asked him if he was Indiana Jones and he tipped his hat and said no, he was just the stunt double."

Other Indiana Jones cast members have been spotted around the North East, including James Bond star Mads Mikkelsen who a fan spotted near Newcastle Central Station earlier this week.

He is part of a big-name cast, which also reportedly includes Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Filming at the castle is expected to take place all week, with the tourist spot closed to the public until Monday.

It is one of two major blockbusters currently being shot in the region.

Filming has also been taking place in Alnwick for the latest Dungeons and Dragons film, starring Hugh Grant.
