Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones benefits from an increased emphasis on thrilling action, although it's undercut by ponderous plot points and underdeveloped characters.

Andrew O'Hehir Sight & Sound A forgettable and discontented tale of entropy and corruption, of a grand, idealistic venture that has lost its way. Dec 19, 2019 Full Review Namrata Joshi Outlook Attack of the Clones fails to offer the same brand of unadulterated thrill and excitement as the Star Wars trilogy. Rated: 2/4 Jan 3, 2019 Full Review Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic His characters, as is now his norm, are plastic puppets, even in the confectionary love scenes. Most of their dialogue is so doughy that it could be spooned into comic-strip balloons. Lucas simply has no interest in these people. Apr 11, 2016 Full Review Akhil Arora AkhilArora.com It’s also too wayward and listless—there’s little plot and the film waits to find plot elements. Despite a split narrative and promising political parallels (to the days of Caesar), it simply doesn’t have enough to grab your interest. May 31, 2024 Full Review Christian Eulinberg InSession Film I cannot express how terrible and dragged out the pacing of this entry was. It is the weakest episode of the prequel trilogy. Sep 26, 2023 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault The action did less than nothing for me. There’s no sense of awe or terror or grandeur in the imagery. Dex V I love this move. Great origin story on the Clone Wars. Great Star Wars content. I know some people don't like the dialog, but most of it fits and the story makes up for it. Clone Wars series helps make it better. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review charles m This movie is very important for the following events in the franchise. One of its biggest strengths is the worldbuilding because you see the main characters visiting very different planets with unique lifeforms. for example, there's Naboo, Coruscant, Geonosis, Tatooine, and Kamino which all hold a large significance in the movie. As much as the scenes between Padme and Anakin have very bad dialog, the ones with Obi-Wan are very well written. There are also key moments where we see Anakin's fall to the dark side approaching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review Jay N This movie is one of the most widely hated and mocked movies out there... Personally, I think it's not that bad. Sure Anakin is very cringe at times and his relationship with Padme is awkward at best.... But, can you really complain about a Awkward Cringey Teenage character being portrayed as an awkward cringey Teenager? I saw this movie in theatres when I was in Grade 6. And I remember thinking one thing back then... "OH MAN OBI-WAN IS SO COOL!!!" Yeah, Obi-wan's story arc in this movie, his whole... detective story is done pretty well in my opinion, And his confrontations with jango are pretty cool scenes... Is this movie a master piece? No. Is it stupid at times? Yes. Is it one of the worst movies ever made? NO. I think it's underrated. I may be one of it's few defenders but hey, someone's gotta root for the underdog! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Forgettable Episode But Yoda VS Count Dooku Was Awesome and Jango Fett's Scenes Were Awesome. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/10/24 Full Review Audience Member Solid film. Natalie Portman is the star of this movie. Plenty of shots of her rock-solid abs in the final 30 minutes or so. Sheesh. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/24 Full Review Dang K The prequel trilogy is plagued by horrible unwatchable silly scenes, but his movie takes the crown. The romantic scenes between Anakin and Amidala are unwatchable with cringing, the absolute worst scenes in the saga. It has a lot of cool action scenes, but some drag on too long. This is the worst movie in of the entire canon. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
